gift giving disasters...

I start shopping for Christmas during the summer some years...this was one of those years...unfortunately my gift giving was some what disasterous...
I bought my dad the game Are You Smarter Than a 5th grader because he loves the show...someone in my stepmom's family already got my dad one, and then my sister got him one too...
I bought my sister a robe...she's had the same one for 20+ years...my dad and stepmom got her one...apparently she asked for one and told them...I got her one cuz I thought after 20 years she needed one...
I got my stepmom this beautiful jacket/top...it was too small...I got a fabulous deal on it and thought it looked like her...the problem was they only had a small...I thought it might work (and I prayed...) but it didn't...

Needless to say, I feel like I failed miserably in the gift giving department this year. :( I guess next year I'll just stick to gift cards...

As much as everyone says it's the thought that counts..... sometimes it's the gift that counts. lol Sorry that your giving experience wasn't all perfect this year. The thing is, you really put a lot of thought into it all and that counts for something! We don't buy gifts for siblings, parents, inlaws etc. which makes it MUCH easier. And our kids seemed to appreciate their gifts this year, we hit the bullseye with them. lol

Don't beat yourself up.....it's the thought that counts!!! We had one duplicated.....one of our daughts asked for a crock pot and received two!!! It was a big laugh for our family. One will go back and she'll exchange it for something else.

Don't beat yourself up! You went out and did a great thing, tried to get a gift more personalized than a gift card!

Anyway, who's smarter than 3 5th grader games!

LOL!!! At least I hope you're able laugh at this now. This happened to me about 3 years ago. I was so upset, but after a week or so I was laughing. Sorry about that...I remember being heartbroken about it.

Glad you got your break problem solved!!!
