Dumb Dog Lady...

A couple weeks ago I was driving home from somewhere. When I got to the road to turn on my street, I have to go up a hill. As I go up the hill, going about 25 mph, there's a woman with 3 dogs on expandable leashes all over the road. I slow down, wait for her to move herself and her 3 dogs out of the way, and then go by. She gives me a dirty look as I drive by. sigh...

Yesterday, I'm with the girls. We are on our way home...same street. This time I'm going 20 mph, knowing dog lady might be on the street. She is. I slow down, wait for her to move her dogs and herself out of the way...I pass slowly with caution. Lady gives me another dirty look and yells slow down! UMMMMM....so I roll down my window, look back at her and say,
"Why is it EVERY TIME I drive down this road and you are on it you give me a dirty look?" She says, "Because you almost run over my dogs!" I reply, "Ma'am, I live around the corner and come this way home. The speed limit is 30, I slow down to 20. If you don't like that you should walk your dogs somewhere else!" and I proceed to drive home....

What's up with that lady....GEEEEEEEEEZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ....
Hey I know pedestrians have the right away...but I've slowed down, and waited for her to move her dumb dogs...if it were me and I knew that someone might be driving down the road, because I could hear the car (and OBVIOUSLY the woman is NOT deaf) I would be moving my dogs and myself promptly out of the way....but this dumb lady has her dumb dogs on expandable leashes and lets them stay all over the road until the last minute with her standing in the middle of the road! Um is it me, or does this seem pretty stupid? sigh....

I'm thinking about writing a letter to the editor at the local paper to be published....maybe dumb dog lady will realize it's not too cool to be in the middle of the road!!!!

Okay, climbing off the soapbox now....

Faith of a child

It doesn't matter how old you are...if you have faith of a child it can make all the difference in the world!

My dd wanted desperately to see a ball game the other day at the minor league park. She wanted to see her beloved Astro pitcher that was in rehab for an injury. It had been raining with thunderstorms all day. The weather didn't seem like it would clear up. We already bought tickets for the game on Saturday. DD reminded me and her daddy all day long, "Just have faith, momma. It will clear up." We went out for lunch and when we got done, it was still black outside. Dh told dd to call to see if the game was still scheduled. "Game's still on. They have sunshine out there."

So we head out that way. Still black out, still icky looking and still sprinkling...I'm not in the mood to sit out where it's all wet and humid-blech!

Get to our seats...then sun is starting to peak out. Soon the sky is not only sunny, but clearing! Before we left, the skies were completely clear!

Did I mention my dd is the 21 year old? :)

Sunday Sing-Along

This song isn't by a Christian artist, but I heard it on the local Christian radio station. I liked it, so it's my pick for the week.

An Interesting Wakeup Call and Stocks...

I called my stockbroker today and asked, "what are you buying" ?
His answer: canned goods and ammunition.

Here's an interesting video...certainly a wakeup call if true (which I suspect a lot of it will come to pass)

100 days

Well it's the closing of Obama's first 100 days. Many people, including myself, aren't happy with his choices. But instead of looking at the negative, I want to look at the positive. We're 100 days closer to JESUS. :D

I love GOD's Promises!!!

The day we headed out to AZ (and might I add...dh was reconsidering going to AZ even after pulling out the driveway...concerned about finances, and not sure we should go)

On the way out on the main road, a white dove almost hit our windshield. No kidding...
When we were in AZ sitting by the pool, guess what was up in the tree? Another white dove.

Just small reminders of GOD's love and faithfulness. Isn't it wonderful?

Arizona Trip

Well here's a story from our trip to AZ...
On the way, we stopped in Fort Stockton for some chicken. (If you've ever been to Fort Stockton, you know there's not much of a selection)
So we're at KFC and they have a buffet. Dh asks the gal behind the counter how much for the buffet...
She replies: "The senior buffet is $6.50" ROFLOL!
Dh asks" "How much for the regular buffet?"

Apparently the gal didn't realize dh isn't a senior! (He's a junior though-LOL)
When she found out he's only going to be 50 in May, she felt so bad, she gave us a discount on our bucket of chicken anyhow! ;)
