Robotics

Tomorrow is the Robotics Competition in Grand Forks!  YAY!!!  I am one happy camper.  Although there is a slim possibility our kids could go to the next round...sigh...lol...this could be our last robotics gathering.  :D
Here's a video of their presentation. The kids had to come up with some way to present the theme of this year's challenge-transportation. They picked mag-levs. They are suppose to offer a solution in their presentation.
Our team would appreciate if you'd watch the video.
Thanks and blessings!

Will ya join me?

I have awesome news to share!

This is a very cool story!

Dh got a call last week.  Someone was interested in leasing the house.  Maybe 3 years.  Cool.

Next day, dh gets a call, someone is interested in buying the house. Cool too.

But what to do?  what to do?  ever been there?  I asked  my friends for prayers that we would make a GODLY decision and that we would have peace that passes all understanding for our decision.

We spoke to a few friends in a short amount of time, trying to weigh the options too.

Ordinarily the idea of selling would be the way to go-right?  But not necessarily in our case.  The house was on a quick sale.  We would lose our equity in the house.  We would get a mark against dh's credit and have to file a 1099?(that might not be the right form, but some tax form) for tax purposes...not to mention the fact that why would the LORD allow the house to sit there for so long empty?  Did he want us to keep it?  We hadn't been able to make payments in a long time because of our finances.  We had been in touch with the bank all along and they were so gracious to us, and willing to work with us....but in actuality...that was GOD's supernatural favor on us.  :D For some reason in the back of my mind for quite sometime, I felt like we were suppose to keep it-so did the rest of the family....but we couldn't explain why.

Leasing means we could keep the house, maybe sell it later and get more out of it, if the housing market goes up again.  We would be able to catch up on payments.  The bank is willing to tack on what is owed to  the end of the note and refinance according to dh's salary now.

So we are praying and our friends are praying.  LORD show us what to do...give us peace and may our decision glorify YOU.

Dh  finds out the leaser is a pastor.  He's married with a daughter.  They've been living in an RV for 4 years!  (how GOD is that?)  Dh calls their church to find out what kind of church...turns out they are like faith as us...HOLY GHOST FILLED!  WOOHOOOOOOOO!!!!!

This has been my prayer all along, LORD send someone that feels YOUR presence and peace in the house. I told dh, "I bet the reason they want to lease the house is because they feel the presence and peace of GOD in that house."

DH asked our realtor if he can talk with the possible leaser.  Sure.  Dh and the pastor hit it off.  Dh asks the pastor, "What made you decide on this house?"  The pastor said they had prayed all along and asked that they would know which house by the peace and presence of GOD and when they went into our house, they felt the unsurmountable peace of GOD there.  :D

On top of that, the pastor said to dh, something like, "I know I don't know you, but the LORD has pressed on my heart to tell you this.  GOD is getting ready to bless you more than you can imagine!"

So I guess you can tell what our decision was?  The leasers moved in this weekend.  They hope to buy it down the road.  (not sure why they didn't now...maybe GOD has another plan.)

The bank is going to refinance still and tack on what we missed to the end of the loan.

Will you all join me in giving praise to GOD for HIS supernatural provision?

Blessings until next time!

Sunday Sing-Along

I remember when this song first came out.  It annoyed me.  I thought that's so obvious!  of course GOD is an awesome GOD.  (I was a fairly new Christian at the time...LOL)  The longer I am a Christian, the more I grow in HIS likeness, and learn about HIM, the more I realize how truly awesome HE is.  (nothing that I could ever know back when I thought it was SO obvious!)

Rich Mullins, much like Keith Green, not only died long before they should have, but was a powerful praise and worshipper, and had an anointing like Keith...I think they were prophets before their time.  :)

Hope you all have a very blessed Sunday, and that you come to know GOD's true awesomeness!  It gets better and better everyday!  :D

American Idol humor...

Wednesday night we were watching American Idol.  The last contestant of the evening was a young man that had gotten in to trouble growing up.  He was 15 at the time, left his parents a note, and went out and robbed a bank with a BB-gun.  When I heard this I roared laughing out loud, until I had tears streaming down my eyes.  The only thing I could think of was the line from the movie,  "The Christmas Story" where the kid is repeatly told, "You'll shoot your eye out kid!"  I bursted out saying, "Give me all your money, or I'll shoot your eye out!" I couldn't stop laughing!!! I know it's kinda cruel...but the guy has gotten his life straightened out and it was just so darn funny thinking that this could have been his wording.  :P

Great Movie...

For my birthday, a gal that my dd works with, gave me a movie called "Uncle Nino".  I highly recommend this for a family movie.  It's a movie that makes you laugh and cry. It's lighthearted, not too deep.  It's about an Italian uncle that visits his nephew and family and brings life back into them.  I give it two thumbs up for family entertainment.  You can purchase it a Family Christian Bookstores.

What's the fastest way to break a fast?

Tell everyone on your blog, you're on a fast.  LOL

Have you ever started something, knowing it's a good thing, but not necessarily a GOD thing?  Not that Fasting isn't a GOD thing, it is, but that maybe GOD didn't tell you (me) to do it.  Does that make sense?  I intended to fast for 21 days-a Daniel fast.  Veggies, fruits, and water.  After the third day, I felt released from the Daniel diet, and I drank a soda.  I have continued to fast, somewhat on a Daniel fast and somewhat just a fast. Do I feel like I've let GOD down?  No.  Why?  Because there is no condemnation in CHRIST JESUS.
While others may not understand or can relate, GOD understands and knows my heart.  HE knows my level of commitment.  Each of us have to do what we feel the LORD is calling us to do.  We should never feel condemned by others opinions.  We should evaluate ourselves by GOD's word, not other's opinions.

Here's a post I wrote Nov. 2006...I think it's fitting to go with this post.

I know a dear, sweet, precious lady. Everytime I'm around her I leave thinking, "I need to be more like her"...

While I was cleaning the kid's bathroom...I started thinking about this...

Other people's convictions may not be YOUR convictions from GOD. When we allow other people's convictions become our own we could actually be putting ourselves in bondage and become legalist and religious. All things JESUS came to set us free from. I'm not saying that someone's conviction is wrong for them-if GOD told them to do/not do something. But it is wrong for me to assume that that conviction should become my conviction, unless GOD tells me do/not do something.

It's taken me a long time to understand this. I would hear preachers, pastors, etc. and I then thought well I need to do this or that...I would get so upset...I would allow his conviction to become my conviction and I would become miserable! I would become depressed and angry and in turn I was putting myself into bondage. Who was I angry with? GOD? He never told me to let that become my conviction. MYSELF? Was I angry because it was something I didn't want to give up? If I were really suppose to give it up why was it so hard? GOD's WORD says "My yoke is easy and my burden is light." OTHERS? Was I angry at others because they made me feel condemned? There is no condemation for those that are in CHRIST JESUS. What was I doing? I was actually being condemned by the devil is what was taking place and then I would fall into sin because I was angry and depressed.

I'm still learning, but over the years I'm beginning to slowly grow and understand. What a great feeling not to be bound. We are free in JESUS! We are not bound by other people's convictions, only those GOD lays on our heart! What a blessing!

Blessings until next time!

PS For the record, I have successfully done a Daniel fast a couple of times. I have also been on a longer fast successfully too.  I don't want anyone to think I didn't have the will power...lol

Happy Milk Day

Happy Milk Day-you ask?  Yes, Happy Milk Day.  Several years ago, ds looked at the January calendar and asked me, "Mom, what's milk day?"  I said, "Huh?"  He said, "Mom it's here on the calendar....Milk Day"  "No son, that says, MLK Day.  That means Martin Luther King Day.  ROFLOL...  "Oh"  LOL....

My Handsome Men!

Flower (dh) and I are eclectic in our music styles.  We listen to a lot of Christian music, but we also like a lot of classic rock, country, classical...there's not many kinds of music we don't care for.  Dh use to jam out with many bands in his younger days.  Before he was a christian, a couple rock band and afterwards with many Christian bands.  With all the hype of Rock Band, etc.  Joe Bug has learned to appreciate all kinds of music as well...well not to mention we listen to various music in the car (and you all know we practically live in the car!)
One day, at Target, ds saw "The Who" t-shirt.  He and Dad love The Who's song "Pinball Wizard".  Ds really wanted the shirt.  I was hesitant and told him to ask Dad.  Dad said, "I wouldn't mind having one myself."  LOL
When we went to get the t-shirt they were sold out.  I told ds we would hit another Target the next day.  When we went over there, the t-shirts were on clearance!  Ds got the t-shirt with his bday money.  He also bought his dad one for his bday, but gave it to him way early. :D
Dad shared a story about how he bought his dad things over the years and his dad never wore them, and that he would be honored to wear the t-shirt Joe Bug got him.

Followers...

Well apparently one of the followers of my blog, either didn't like my post about Pat Robertson or didn't read my blog anymore...how much you want to make a bet it was because they didn't like my opinion?

I brought the big guns out...I had proof...people don't like the truth...well if you're going to follow the LORD you better realize that HE is the TRUTH and we are suppose to promote truth.

I'm not going to apologize.  I have no reason to.  If you don't want to accept the truth that's between you and GOD.  You are the one that has to stand before HIM and explain.

Let us not forget:
John 10:10 (King James Version)

10The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

Remember...GOD did NOT do this.  Satan is the thief and he did.

Pat Robertson Headlines

Pat Robertson has made headline news again.  Did you hear what he said or just what the media said that he said? I listened to him via the internet from the 700 club, instead of choosing to watch Youtube, where the video might have been butchered to distort what he said or how he said it,  and then went on a history hunt.  Below I have linked what I discovered.

Unfortunately because most people choose to listen to the media and not go investigate for themselves, the story probably has been distorted or misunderstood.

Pat Robertson was blaming what took place in Haiti in 1791 as the cause of why the earthquake took place.  If people Christians remember Ephesians 6:12:  (King James Version) 12For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

AND  they would do a little searching, they would realize Pat Robertson's statement is correct.
Matthew 11:15 (King James Version)
15He that hath ears to hear, let him hear

Was he trying to be hurtful?  NO!  He was trying to give understanding as to why the earthquake was allowed to happen.

Did GOD cause this earthquake?  NO...but HE allowed it to happen.

WHY?  Because the people of Haiti have practiced witchcraft and voodoo for decades.

That's pretty harsh, you're thinking...

NO, it's not.  It's not any different than you or I going outside with an umbrella full of holes!  What would happen if you go out in the rain.  You get wet.  Why?  Because you have holes letting rain go through the umbrella and you get soaked.  It's the same with GOD's hand of protection. If we choose not to follow GOD, HIS hand of protection is removed. Look at the children of Israel.  How often they turned their backs on GOD.  HE simply would remove HIS protection from them when they did that.  GOD is a loving and GENTLE  GOD.  HE will NOT force HIMSELF on people.  Therefore, HE has simply removed HIMSELF from the people.  Remember what the Bible says?
Matthew 6:24 (King James Version)

24No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammonHaiti was trying to serve GOD and satan.  It simply can not be done.
Try walking in disobedience for a day, and serving GOD....it's not pleasant!  BTDT!

A good read on GOD's hand of protection is here

Many people won't agree with me, I'm sure.  But if you look into the history of Haiti and Voodoo, you will discover that Haiti allowed satan to come and reign in their country.

The good news is there are many Christians in Haiti today, and many missionaries and other Christian organizations leading men and women to Christ daily!  I believe a great revival is going to take place in Haiti, and they will turn to GOD after this destruction the devil has caused.  I'm lifting up the people of Haiti, praying  for those that lost loved ones, those missing, those that don't know the LORD that they will be comforted by HIM and come to know HIM through this tragic event.  What the devil meant for evil, GOD will use it for HIS glory!!!

Color

Recently there's been a pm going from pm to pm on Facebook.  It reads...

Some fun is going on.... just write the color of your bra in your status. Just the color, nothing else. And send this on to ONLY girls no men .... It will be neat to see if this will spread the wings of cancer awareness. It will be fun to see how long it takes before the men will wonder why all the girls have a color in their status... Haha!

I joined in the fun, but as usual, somehow it ended up not being that much fun, when the criticism started.

  • On the issue of modesty:
First of all, the pm was only suppose to be sent to women.  If a man made a comment, how about ignoring it or just saying something like LOL?  For example I put pink, and a friend commented "pepto bismal"  I just commented , "ROFLOL"  there was no need to explain.

Second of all, if men are obsessed with a woman's bra color...he's been lusting after her for more than that.
Besides if the church would be teaching this verse, bra color might not be such an issue.

2 Corinthians 10:5 (King James Version)

5Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

  • On the issuse of making people aware:
I think the stir is making people more aware of Breast Cancer.  We know GOD is the HEALER and the CURE, but it's important people are aware.  Not every christian is at the level of understanding or have the faith level for healing yet.  We also need to be aware, so we know how to pray and pray specifically.

GOD can heal that too, but in the meantime, what about all the women searching for a cure. Maybe they don't know the LORD...or maybe they do, but don't understanding healing.  Regardless, there still needs to be an awareness.  No, we don't understand the scars, but we are trying to raise awareness to help, not to hurt.

It's time to let it go and move on...

Blessings until next time!

Goals for 2010

I'm not one to do make New Year's resolutions.  But I do like to set goals.  My friend, Susan, set her goals for 2010 and said she would like to hear ours...so this post is for her.

1. I, too, will be fasting for 21 days.  It will be a Daniel fast.  I will begin today.  (I would have started yesterday, but that's ds's 14th bday!)
My purpose in fasting is (no particular order):

  • direction for 2010
  • deeper/closer relationship with GOD
  • financial breakthrough
  • better relationship with my dh
  • to see family members and friends saved
2. I plan on fasting once a week thereafter.

3. I've decided, with our current financial situation, to seriously look at something and decide do I need this, before I buy it.  If I don't, then I won't.  I don't think this is a survivalist mentality.  I don't believe in a survivalist mentatlity.  I do believe in being wise with what GOD gives us, and currently that's enough to pay bills and buy food.  I don't need to go into debt to have something I don't need right now.

4. Pay off the current debt we do have on credit cards.  (We actually were almost done paying off credit cards and then used them here to pay for gas and the rv park, also the roof at home)

5. Get my kids caught up with school work. We have fallen behind because of all our travels and moving.  Not that they aren't learning life lessons and history along the way, but we still need to get caught up in "paperwork".

Blessings until next time

Today is a very special Sunday Sing-Along. It's Joe Bug's 14th Birthday! sigh...where has the time gone? It's not only special to him because it's his birthday, but he begins to start shaving the caterpillar off his face today. LOL  I love you, Joe Bug!  You are growing up to be a fine gentleman!

So will you all join me in singing Happy Birthday to him? :D

And in honor of his special day, one of his favorite songs!

Nothing

I have nothing exciting or inspirational to share.  :(  sorry.  I'm not sure I even have a funny story to tell.  We been staying in for days because of the weather.  It snowed all day yesterday.  Dh went into work late and dd went in with him because she had the evening shift at work.  She ended up spending the night with a co-worker and dh came in late.  He said the roads were treacherous. I don't think they clear the county roads often.  The first time it snowed in October the plows were out in full force-and we didn't even have that much snow...now the snow gets thicker on the roads and the plowers are kinda moseying down the road once in awhile.

Oh here!  I've got news...lol...
I got bifocals!  lol  Not that I ever wear them...I need glasses for reading and for distance.  It use to be I could wear a single lens to do both because of my astigmastism but now I guess that doesn't work anymore.  It had been 8(?) years since I'd been to the eye doctor.  My how time flies.  I really didn't realize it had been that long!  The girls both got new prescriptions too.  Belle got some cute purple glasses, Doodles got her cute purple glasses filled with new lens, and I got purple bifocals-they are a hip shape...some of those frames that don't have a bottom part of the frame.  Well anyhow, I don't look like I'm wearing 30 wear old glasses anymore!  :D

It got down to -33*F on Saturday.  Broke a 125 year old record.  We had that cool sensation in our noses...when I spoke to my brother and told him. He said, "Snotcicles?"  lol

That's about all the excitement here.
Blessings until next time!

Happy New Year 2010

2010-WOW!!!!  Can you believe it? I wonder what great adventure(s) GOD has for us this year?!  :D

As most people are making new year's resolutions, I'm reminded of the verse in Lamentations 3:22-23
 (King James Version)

22It is of the LORD's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.
23They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

GOD's faithful is daily and mercies are new everyday.  We have HIS promises.  We can start new every single day. In CHRIST,  everyday is like a new year of resolutions. :D

I'm looking forward to a great 2010.  I'm praying you are too.

Blessings until next time!
