Sunday Sing-Along

This song is in the movie, "The Ultimate Gift".

Not MIA...

No, I haven't gone missing in action.  LOL!  We have been on the road to Arkansas this week.  We left around 5 pm on Monday and got here on Thursday.  We didn't have our wireless internet card working yet, so I had no way of communicating online.  (We didn't make many stops at rest areas this time, where they often have free internet)

Things are not as we expected, but I know GOD has a plan and it will all work out some how.  :D  Our friend's property is off of a busy road with railroad tracks next door, so we can't let the dog run, and it mostly is a wooded area that goes back far.  Trying to get the RV on the property was a bit interesting.  Dr. Donut (our friend...I tell you the story behind the name below) has a steep drive.  He also has a lot that isn't so steep, but the road is so narrow, it made getting the RV on the property take a long while.  The storage under his building....you have to go to the back of the building and there is a separate door to go in.  Unfortunately the property there is also steep, and the basement needs a lot of work and probably a lot of money to fix it up, not to mention some of the neighbors are less than be desired.  (not trying to be judgemental...but it's probably not a good place to leave our possessions)

Dh found a storage unit in a better area, and it costs only $40 a month. So we will drop our stuff off there and then head back up to ND to get the rest of our stuff.  We were hoping to get it all, except the boat, but that didn't work out.  :(

Dr. Donut got that name because when he use to call our house, the caller ID would show up his old partner's name Don Nutt...it looked like donut...so I started calling him Dr. Donut.  LOL!

Blessings until next time!

No Surprise. GOD is still on HIS throne

I know many of us are very disappointed in our congress for the passing of the healthcare reform.  But have I got good news for you.  GOD is still on HIS throne and this didn't take HIM by surprise.  GLORY to GOD for that!

Do you know why our country thinks they need socialized healthcare?  Because we quit trusting GOD for our healings.  We decided going to the doctor was more important than going to the GREAT PHYSICIAN.  Dr. LUKE in the Bible...His job was to diagnose the sickness, so that the people knew how to pray to the GREAT PHYSICIAN and then go back to the doctor and he could declare them clean and free and healed!  It's about time we turn back to that kind of healthcare!

Now, maybe not everyone is going to get healed, but does that mean we quit praying?  Does that mean we quit looking to GOD?  NO!  We are in a lost and fallen world.  But if we get sick or struck with a disease, it is for GOD's GLORY that HE may be edified, not for the medical profession and insurance to make a killing financially.

Hey I'm just saying....

Blessings until next time!

Beth

My friend, Beth, is walking on streets of gold, worshipping the KING of KINGS and the LORD of LORDS today.  She moved to Heaven this morning from my understanding around 10 am EST.  Please keep her family and friends in your prayers as they mourn the loss of her smiling face and encouraging life dedicated to her SAVIOUR.

Thank you and blessings!

Nothing more than feelings

This morning I was reading my devotion for the day ("Pursuit of His Presence"-Kenneth & Gloria Copeland) and it went along with my blog post from yesterday.  Brother Copeland was talking about healing.  He was talking about just recently it was just as tough to get people saved as it is to get them healed today.  He said people like Dwight L. Moody came along and changed that.  He said people would walk into church service and someone asked you if you were saved and you said no, would happen if everyone picked up on the truth about healing in ththey would grab you and say, "JESUS died for your sins, man! Trust HIM, receive HIM as your LORD and HE'LL save you right now!"

Brother Copeland then questioned, "Now what do you think would happen if everyone picked up on the truth about healing in the  same way?"

His reply was, "I can tell you what would happen. Healing would become as easily received as the new birth, and we'd wonder why we had so much trouble with it for so long!"

Now here's the part I liked the most in the devotion this morning:

"What's more, in that environment, if someone prayed for healing and then said, 'I don't think I got anything, I don't feel any better.' do you know what they'd be told?  The same thing people are told today when they doubt their salvation because they don't 'feel' saved.  Some mature believer would pull them aside and say, 'Now listen here, You can't go by feelings. You have to do this by faith. If you wait until you feel something to believe you're saved (or healed), you'll never be able to receive."

That goes for anything in our walk with the LORD.  We must have faith.  Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.  (Hebrews 11:1)

Did you hear yourself say that?  The substance of things hoped for!  The evidence of things not seen.

We don't see them always immediately, but we press in on the WORD of GOD and keep hoping for those things not seen!

Blessings until next time!

This really annoys me!

Have you ever heard someone say something like, "Oh I'm too far gone, GOD can't heal me now?"
 or
"Well that situation won't ever change!"

This statements coming from Christians!!!!!  I wanna lay hands on them! (snicker)

SO what they are really saying, even if they don't realize it, is...I don't trust GOD enough for HIM to do that!  The confession of our mouths can bring life or death.  HIS WORD says choose LIFE!!!  SO why would you say it can't, HE can't, blah, blah, blah????

Climbing off my soap box now.
Blessings until next time!

I've got to be honest...

I don't pop out of bed every morning ready to take on satan.  This morning I woke up, after a very long night of very little sleep, thinking to myself, "LORD, help me with my unbelief."

It's not easy to always be full of faith and encouraging words.  I have to remind myself daily, sometimes hourly, sometimes minute to minute, when satan tries to come against me.

I think that's what people don't understand.  It's something you have to do.  When the enemy tries to place doubt in you, you have to stand against it.  You have to say No, satan, the WORD of GOD says....

That is why it is so important that we know the WORD of GOD!  Remember even JESUS was tempted by satan, and had to tell him what the WORD said.  (you can read it in Matthew 4: 1-11)

According to II Corinthians 10:5, we are to...
 5Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

I'm not going to lie, it's not always easy. Therefore it's important for us to know the WORD of GOD, meditate on it and pray for our unbelief...which is where I'm at today.  I'd appreciate your prayers also.

Blessings until next time!

Sunday Sing-Along

The other day I posted on Beth's FB page how much she has meant to me over the years and I thought of this song.  So this is my song for this week....Because soon she'll be standing there with JESUS!

a friend's moving-sad

My friend, Beth, is moving to a bigger and better place soon. This is bittersweet for us that love her. I don't know Beth IRL.  We have been URL friends for over 10 years.  I met her on the first homeschool board I found on the internet.  Beth has always been an encourager.  I can remember when I first joined the board and our van transmission went out. She was so understanding and compassionate. When I lived in a tent, she was there to cheer me on.  Every move I've made I recall her saying things like, "Bobbi, you are the movingest family." LOL

Beth will soon be making the big move to Heaven.  She has tumors on her brain. All of us that know her have been praying for her healing. Beth's dh, Paul posted a few days ago, "Beth and I can only sit on the couch with my arm around her. Most of the time she is in a stupor or mostly asleep. Time goes so slow when you are actively waiting for Jesus. Please pray that he comes to visit Beth soon." Her dh posted yesterday on her FB, "I hurt too much to read, I hurt too much to write, my Beth is slipping away. I hurt I hurt I hurt. Paul"

Please keep Beth, her family (including her 3 grown children), and friends in your prayers during this bittersweet time.  We have the joy of seeing her again when we make our move to Heaven, but on the otherhand we will miss her encouragement, love, and kindness.

Blessings and thank you!

Encouraging words

I read this story several weeks ago.  I find it very encouraging.  I think it applies to yesterday's blog and the comments made.

Susan said~"I LOVE the Word and how it always speaks to us, just what we need each and every day."

Laura said~"AMEN! I agree with Susan. God knows our hearts and He knows what and when we need to hear His Word!"

I think it's an encouraging word not just for being a martyr but for anything the LORD allows us to go through.  GOD is so faithful!  Thank YOU LORD for never leaving us or forsaking us and giving us the faith we need when we need it!  :D

Corrie Ten Boom tells this story:

"When I was a little girl, " I said, "I went to my father and said,

"Daddy, I am afraid that I will never be strong enough to be a martyr for Jesus Christ."

"Tell me," said Father,

"When you take a train trip to Amsterdam,

when do I give you the money for the ticket?

Three weeks before?"

"No, Daddy, you give me the money for the ticket just before we get on the train."

"That is right," my father said, "and so it is with God's strength.

Our Father in Heaven knows when you will need the strength to be a martyr for Jesus Christ.

He will supply all you need – just in time…"

What a great thing to know.  GOD gives us what we need when we need it.  We go from Glory to Glory, Victory to Victory.  Some people have told me I'm amazing for the the things I've had to go through...what makes moving so amazing?  That doesn't make me amazing, BUT I serve an AMAZING GOD and HE does AMAZING things through me and gives me what I need, when I need it, to do what I need to do.  :D  HE hasn't failed me yet, and I don't expect HIM to anytime soon (for that matter, NEVER!!!)

Blessings until next time!

A little nugget

Here is a trustworthy saying:

If we died with him,

we will also live with him;

if we endure,

we will also reign with him.

If we disown him,

he will also disown us;

if we are faithless,

he will remain faithful,

for he cannot disown himself." II Timothy 2:13 NIV

I love this!  I was reading my devotion this morning, and the context was over II Timothy 2:1-7.  It was talking about that we will endure hard times as a soldier of the LORD.  Like usual, I continued to read instead of stop where the devotion says to stop, and I got that little nugget. How beautiful is the WORD of GOD!  What a lovely piece of encouragement!

Blessings until next time!

Too Good to pass up...

Tuesday, March 9, 2010

As much as I appreciate...

As much as I appreciate everyone's condolences on our situation, really please don't be sorry.  GOD has something wonderful for us.  We go from glory to glory, victory to victory!  I don't know what it is, but I know it is something more wonderful than I can ask or think!

How can you say that, might be your thoughts....because I know MY GOD!  HIS WORD says HE'LL never leave me or forsake me.  HIS WORD says:

Phillipans 4:19 "But my GOD shall supply all your need according to HIS riches in glory by CHRIST JESUS"

3 John 2 "Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth"

Psalm 37:25 "I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread."

Psalm 34:10 "The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the LORD shall not want any good thing."

Psalm 23:1 "The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want."

Deuteronomy 28:2-8 "And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God.

Blessed shalt thou be in the city, and blessed shalt thou be in the field.

Blessed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy ground, and the fruit of thy cattle, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep.

Blessed shall be thy basket and thy store.

Blessed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and blessed shalt thou be when thou goest out.

The LORD shall cause thine enemies that rise up against thee to be smitten before thy face: they shall come out against thee one way, and flee before thee seven ways.

The LORD shall command the blessing upon thee in thy storehouses, and in all that thou settest thine hand unto; and he shall bless thee in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee."

Deuteronomy 28:11-13 "And the LORD shall make thee plenteous in goods, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy ground, in the land which the LORD sware unto thy fathers to give thee.

The LORD shall open unto thee his good treasure, the heaven to give the rain unto thy land in his season, and to bless all the work of thine hand: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, and thou shalt not borrow.

And the LORD shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath; if that thou hearken unto the commandments of the LORD thy God, which I command thee this day, to observe and to do them:"

Luke 6:38 "Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again."

I Corinthians 16:2 "Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come"

Malachi 3:10-12"Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.

And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the LORD of hosts.

And all nations shall call you blessed: for ye shall be a delightsome land, saith the LORD of hosts."

II Corinthians 9:6-8 "But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.

Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.

And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:"

Matthew 6:31-33 "Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?

(For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.

But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you."

So as much as I appreciate your concerns, I serve a BIG GOD and I know HE can do exceedingly, abundantly more than I could ask or think.  :D  So, please just pray for us that we will follow HIS voice, HIS SPIRIT.

Blessings until next time!

This is the plan...

Proverbs 29:18 (King James Version)

18Where there is no vision, the people perish: but he that keepeth the law, happy is he.

As of now this is the plan.  For those that don't know, dh got laid off on Friday.  We knew it was coming.  He hasn't had work from the start of the job.  He's been on overhead for 9 months.

We have a friend in Arkansas who is a chiropractor.  He has some acreage, a place for us to set up our RV, a storage area for us to put all our stuff, and an unused property.  He needs help fixing up his house and a classic car.  He also needs help with his office.

So this is the plan...we are going to leave North Dakota by the end of the month and go to Arkansas and dh is going to help our friend out with his house and car.  DD can help him with his office work and learn the insurance side of the business.  She used to work for a chiropractor.  Our friend isn't doing anything with the unused property and said we can do something with it.  Maybe a restaurant is in the makings???

I don't know what tomorrow will bring...but GOD does.  I need to focus on today and on HIM and that's all that matters.  HE is my vision, HE is my path, HE is faithful, and will bring great things to pass if I abide in HIM.

I would appreciate pray during this time.  Finances, direction, safe travels, etc

Also, would you mind praying for my dad's wife, Annie?  Annie's mom past away yesterday. From my understanding she past away in her sleep at 99 yrs of age, fulfilled with a good life.

Thanks and blessings until next time!

A poem for all of you...

Another season for us to learn and grow,
But alas it's time for us to go,
Farewell Fargo, we say good-bye,
Trusting in our LORD on HIGH!

Sunday Sing-Along

Last minute change on my song today. I had another one up, but after seeing and hearing this song, I felt lead to put it up.

Cash Cab

Have you ever seen or heard of that show Cash Cab?  It's a tv game show that takes place in a NYC taxi cab.  The driver, Ben, asks triva questions to the passengers and they get money for each question the answer correctly.  They have 3 strikes for the incorrect answers and they can also get help one time from a friend on the phone and from help on the street.

Well last night we went to go see the new movie, "Alice in Wonderland".  Not my kind of movie, but the rest of the family wanted to see it.  I wouldn't recommend it for children under 10-12 years old.  It's a bit dark...again, not my kind of movie,  the graphics in it were awesome, but then again what can you expect from a Tim Burton movie?  Anyhow, getting back to Cash Cab...

So last night while we were walking out of the movie, I said, "They should have used that 60's song 'Go Ask Alice' of whatever that song is by Janis Joplin"
Dh said, "That's not Janis Joplin."
"Oh, well Van Morrison, or whoever it is."

On the way home we stopped to get groceries, and then over to the gas pumps.  As I was starting to pump gas I started cracking up.  My family are all asking, "What?"

I said, "I just thought of something funny to do.  We can pretend we are in the Cash Cab and drive up to people and say, we're in the Cash Cab and we need your help with a question.  Do you know who sang that song, 'Go Ask Alice'"?  ROFLOL

Oh BTW...the answer is Jefferson Airplane and the song is called "White Rabbit".  Later some of the band members left and they changed their name to Jefferson Starship.  The gal that sang it, Grace Slick, originally recorded the song with her former band, The Great Society.

Which leads to why am I telling you all that...because dh thought of the answer shortly after I cracked up laughing and I said, "No, their name was Jefferson Starship."  Which lead me down my own little rabbit trail of finding the information on who sang it etc.

Blessings until next time!

Pickle Ben Gay?

One of my FB friend's status read:
"Did you know that pickles/pickle juice is recommended to stave off muscle cramps after working out? Who'd a thunk it!"

She's been working out with a trainer.
My response was:
"ewwwwwwww you'll be smelling funny if you do that!"

After several more comments, I posted this:
"oh duh...drinking it...roflol...I thought it meant putting it on like Ben Gay! :P"

Her response:
"Bobbi......ROTFLMBO!!!!! Ask H....I'm sure he drank his share!"

My response:
"yes, WELL OBVIOUSLY I wasn't thinking clearly...."

Okay, now that I put a smile on your face, :P, you may go back to your lives!
Blessings until next time!

Bankruptcy/Jubilee

Do you agree with this article? Why or Why not?  (please back up your answer with complete sentences and scripture :D)

Forgive us our Debts as We Forgive our Debtors Bankruptcy and the Bible

an article BY O. Max Gardner III

Dalton Camp proclaimed several years ago that “having lost it value, money may no longer be the root of all evil; credit having taken its place.” This statement demonstrates the paradox of modern day Christianity and debt—should the Christian reaction be one of condemnation or one of compassion. Since many recent respected studies have shown that the average American family is only three weeks away from personal bankruptcy, and since Congress is on the verge of passing legislation that will deny bankruptcy relief to hundreds of thousands of American families, it is time to revisit what the Bible teaches us about debt.

The Bible makes it clear that people are generally expected to pay their debts. Leviticus 25:39. No one in support of or in opposition to the Bankruptcy Reform Bill presently before Congress has advanced any argument against this general proposition. However, this moral and legal obligation to pay just debts must be balanced by such considerations as the need for compassion and the call to cancel debts at periodic intervals. The Biblical basis for such considerations is based on the sabbatical and Jubilee years. The secular basis arises out of the Constitutional of Congress to enact uniform laws allowing businesses and consumers to cancel and to restructure debt obligations. This Biblical support for the legal right to cancel debt is enforced by the even stronger Biblical doctrine that prohibited interest of any amount rather than just usury or excessive interest.

Within the areas of economic justice and stability, the Old Testament is replete with examples of compassionate treatment of the poor, and with preservation of the family unit. These goals were superior to the material concerns of repayment of debt. For instance, Deuteronomy 15:7-10 is particularly forceful. It provides as follows: “If there is a poor man among your brothers . . . do not be hardhearted or tightfisted toward your poor brother. Rather be open handed and freely lend him whatever he needs. Be care note to harbor this wicked thought: ‘The seventh year, the year for canceling debts, is near,’ so that you show ill toward your needy brother and give him nothing. He may then appeal to the LORD against you, and you will be found guilty of sin. Give generously to him and do so without a grudging heart; then because of this the LORD your God will bless you in all your work and in everything you put your hands to.”

The cancellation of debt in the Old Testament was accomplished at legislated intervals. Deuteronomy 15:1-2 clearly provides for such legislative release with the following language: “At the end of every seven years you shall grant a release. And this is the manner of the release: every creditor shall release what he has lent to his neighbor, his brother, because the Lord’s release has been proclaimed”. Under this Biblical model, the debtors’ payment or non-payment of debts was not in question. The debtors may or may not have been culpable for their debts. It was a strict model with no “means test” or detailed analysis of every debt. And, while Old Testament lenders were admonished to be merciful, debts were canceled every seven years whether they liked it or not. The Old Testament model can therefore be legitimately applied to modern day bankruptcy laws. The principle, therefore, is that while taken seriously, debt can be canceled to achieve some higher purpose—such as the preservation of the family unit. It also should be noted that Deuteronomy 15:12-13 provides that slaves should be freed every seven years creating an interesting analogy between the creditor-debtor and the master-servant relationship.

The Biblical use of the term usury corresponds to our modern word interest rather than to the notion of “excessive interest” to which we generally apply the term usury today. Only a small number of us would seriously question the morality of profiting from a loan at normal interest rates. However, the Talmud quotes an ancient rabbi as saying: “It is better to sell your daughter into slavery than to borrow money on interest.” The Lord only knows what this same rabbi would say today if confronted with credit cards bearing interest rates of 34.99% and higher and with some "pay day" lenders demanding annual rates in excess of 800%.

The Biblical doctrine of usury rests primarily on three texts: Exodus 22:25; Leviticus 25:35; and Deuteronomy 23:19-20. Exodus and Leviticus prohibit loans of money or food with interest to a needy brother or sister or even a resident alien. Deuteronomy forbids taking interest from any person. Other Books of the Bible underline the importance of this prohibition on interest. For example, Psalm 15:5 characterizes a righteous man as one who, among other things, “lends his money without usury.” Both Ezekiel 22:12 and Nehemiah 5:0-11 condemn lending money with interest, especially to the poor. And Ezekiel 18:13 list the taking of interest among sins worthy of death.

The prohibition on interest is based on God’s covenant with Israel. The rule is founded upon the compassionate treatment of various oppressed groups: the resident alien; the widow; the orphans; and the poor. Exodus 22:25-27 states the law in explicit terms: “If you lend to one of my people among you who is needy, do not be like the money lender; charge him no interest. If you take your neighbor’s cloak as a pledge, return it to him by sunset, because his cloak is the only covering he has for his body. What else will he sleep on? When he cries out to me, I will hear, for I am companionate.” Leviticus 25:35-37 provides that “If one of your countrymen becomes poor and is unable to support himself among you, help him as you would an alien or a temporary resident, so that he can continue to live amount you. Do not take interest of any kind from him, but fear your Go, so that your countryman may continue to live among you. You must not lend him money at interest or sell him food at profit.” Finally, Deuteronomy 23:19-20 provides: “Do not charge your brother interest, whether on money or food or anything else that may earn interest.”

Jesus clearly had these Biblical principles in mind when he admonished the “money changers” and removed them from God’s house, the sacred Temple. In John 2:14 Jesus “poured out the changers of money and overthrew the tables”. Jesus, in fact, was always true to the principles underlying usury and debt forgiveness and the notion of the importance of placing love and compassion above greed and wealth. In Luke 6:34-35 Jesus said: “And if you lend to those from whom you hope to receive, what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners, to receive as much again. But love your enemies and, do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return, and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High; for he is kind to the ungrateful and the selfish.” The followers of Jesus were to be concerned with the welfare of others, even when met with hatred and abuse.

The consistent teaching of both the Old and New Testaments is that compassion, mercy and justice are to override purely economic concerns, such as loans. Christians are to be gracious to all, even debtors. Jesus said that God does cause the rain to fall on the just and the unjust and in Mark 10:25 he said that “[i]t is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter in to the kingdom of God”. And in Luke 16:9 he said: “I tell you, use worldly wealth to gain friends for yourselves, so that when it is gone, you will be welcomed into eternal dwellings.”, and to “forgive and ye shall be forgiven” Luke 6:37.

The compassion of the scriptures, including the setting aside of legitimate rights of lenders, was typical of economic relationships in the economy of early Judeo-Christian societies. The central theme is one of stability—a stable society with a guarantee of economic security to each family. Wealth was viewed as a blessing from God (Deuteronomy 8:11-18, 28). This blessing resulted from obedience and was based on God’s compassion. The tithing for the poor, the gleaning laws, the year of the Jubilee, were all tangible ways that Israelites could show compassion for each other and honor God by following His law. Beyond income-maintenance programs, the Biblical Law provided a permanent mechanism—such as the Sabbatical year and Jubilee—to ensure that temporary misfortune barred no family from full participation in economic life.

The current Bankruptcy Bill before Congress lacks any compassion for the poor, makes no redress to the modern day money changers who shamelessly peddle plastic at rates that would draw the Holy wrath of God himself, provides no relief but only additional misery to the families saddled with thousands of dollars in medical bills, and most importantly severely undermines the economic and social stability of the average American family. These Americans are like the farmers of the Old Testament who proclaimed to King Nehemiah “We have had to borrow money to pay the king’s tax on our fields and vineyards. Although we are of the same flesh and blood as our countrymen and though our sons are as good as theirs, yet we have to subject our sons and daughters to slavery. Some of our daughters have already been enslaved, but we are powerless, because our fields and our vineyards belong to others”. Nehemiah 5:3-5. Nehemiah responded to his people and ordered to “let the extracting of usury stop! Give back to them immediately their fields, vineyards, olive groves, and houses and also the usury you are charging them…”. Nehemiah 5:11. It is time for our elected Representatives in Washington to follow the example of the Holy Scriptures and to respond in kind by not passing the current Bankruptcy Bill and by not taking away power from the powerless and eliminating relief for the suffering.

If anyone finds any encouragement from being united with Christ, if one feels blessed and gains comfort from his love, if one finds fellowship in his spirit, and feels the tenderness and compassion of his teachings, then you should stand up and express your strongest possible objection to the Bankruptcy Bill pending before the Congress of these United States. Do nothing and the teachings of the Bible will be ignored and forgotten. Speak out, as Jesus would have done and would do again today, and vote No to this mean-spirited piece of legislation.

Blog Hop Tuesday

My friend, Laura, over at Goose Hill Farm, suggested I jump on the band wagon for Blog Hop Tuesday.  So here I am!

My recipe is:

King Ranch Chicken Casserole

1 whole chicken, boiled and deboned (you can also used canned chicken, etc.-this is just what I use)

Reserved Broth or 1/2 can or chicken stock, broth

1 can cream of mushroom soup

1 can cream of chicken soup

1 can rotel diced rotel tomatoes and chiles, drained

corn tortillas cut or torn into pieces (here you can use doritos, corn chips, or flour tortillas)

1 package Velvetta shredded cheese

1-8oz package cheddar cheese, shredded

3-4 green onions chopped (optional)

1/4 cup green or red peppers chopped (optional)

In a mixing bowl, combine soups and broth together, set aside. In a casserole dish, spray with non stick spray, take corn tortillas and layer the bottom of the dish. Spread some of the chicken over the top of these. Pour some of the soup mixture with of the chicken and sprinkle with onions, peppers, rotel tomatoes, and cheese. Continue layering like this with all the ingredients, including tortillas, using both cheese for the top. Bake at 350*F for 30-45 minutes, until hot and bubbly.

Blessings until next time!

WooHoo! Snow Boarding

Friday we went out to "the slopes" with the homeschooling group to go skiing and snow boarding.  DH took the day off and we had a family day.  Joe Bug and Belle both decided they wanted to give snow boarding a try.  DH did a little skiing.  Doodles and I stayed in the lodge and read and visited with some of the other homeschoolers.  It was a little crowded.  There were 3 bus load of ps kids there, but soon they left and things weren't so chaotic.  The "lodge" wasn't very homey like you see in the movies.  It was more like a bunch of tables and chairs everywhere and people's ski stuff thrown all over.  (I pictured a nice big open area with big comfy couches and a roaring fire place, where I would sit back, read, and enjoy some hot chocolate.)

Here's some video of Joe Bug trying it out:

And here's a video of Belle trying it out:

This was their first time trying snowboarding.  I think they both did great.  I was thrilled that Belle not only tried, but even went on the ski lift!  (something I won't dare do)  Belle got assistance from our friend, K.  K was so patient and kind.  She went up on the lift with Belle and stayed with her all the way down.  Belle started crying, and K told her it would be okay and not to cry.  K is another homeschool mom and a wonderful and kind lady!  Thank you K for your help!

Joe Bug thought he'd be Shaun White already-lol!  Needless to say, he's not.  LOL...and both have sore muscles from the whole adventure.

We had a great time and decided to try it again soon!

Blessings until next time!
