Bailed Out

Last week I was sick with a head cold, so I spent most of the week inside and sleeping when I could.  I didn't pay our storage unit because of it.  Yesterday, the girls and I ventured out.  I went over to the storage place to pay.  I drove through the open gate and started writing my check.  There was someone in the office, so Doodles was going to run the check in.  As I was finishing, Doodles said, "Mom, the guy is leaving."  "No problem, I'll just put my check in the mail box on the outside."  I went over to our storage unit to get a few things, but couldn't get the latch to slide...it must have been froze shut.  So I decided to leave.  When we go to the exit gate and put our code in, it doesn't work....um okay, try again....and again, and again. Doodles called dh, asked if we had the right code.  Yep, right code....what to do, what to do???  I go to the office and look for an emergency number.  Great NONE!  I pull open the little side gate and enter my code on the opposite box....not working....time to freak out?

Stephanie calls 911.  States our emergency.  LOL  They send a car out.  The police officer arrives.  I explain the situation.  He says he'll call the rightful authorities.  Waiting, waiting, waiting.  He's looking at us, we're looking at him. He's on his cell, he's on his radio....waiting, waiting, waiting.

Finally,  He opens his door, goes to the key pad, presses in a code and the gate opens.  We tell him he's our hero.  :)  He said he couldn't get a hold of the owner, but a few years ago there was a robbery or something and the paperwork had someone's contact info on it.  The guy still worked for the storage company and gave the officer a code that would work.

My Wonder Woman cape was locked in the storage unit, not doing me any bit of good.  :)

Thank GOD for kind officers and not being stuck.
