Wow! Hard to believe...this year has really flown by. Some interesting things (well I find them interesting) I've been thinking about...
Funny how New Orleans just celebrated the 3rd anniversary of Katrina. Hmmm...3 is significant in the Bible...not to mention the name Gustav...What's in a name? That's a whole post in itself...but think about this..."Speak those things which are not as though they are" Romans 4:17
Another thing I've been meditating on is...in the book of Acts the first, early church.
Things I noticed about the early church is the would go out and get people saved and then bring them in to the church to disciple them...adding to the church daily...and then once those people were discipled they would go out get people saved and bring them in disciple them and send them out...
Nowadays we don't do that, for the most part...we try to get people in church and then save them. We teach salvation week after week in most churches. I think that's why there is so many people that get burned out from church. There isn't much spiritual growth or discipleship. People hear salvation week after week and then feel guilty and repeatly feel like they need to repent for their sins. I don't think a salvation message needs to be taught week after week. People that go to church and hear the voice of the HOLY SPIRIT will be convicted by HIM and want to repent. The Pastor can teach and disciple from the leading of the HOLY SPIRIT and people will want that same power and want to change their lives. Another thing is that most churches invite people to church...but they forget to invite the HOLY SPIRIT.
Oh and what about McCain's choice? I think I like her...not sure if it will help...I'm praying it will...I'll post my thoughts on that later...maybe tomorrow...I think I've given enough to chew on for today.
Blessings until next post and Happy Labor Day and Sept 1st!

I agree with your thoughts here. Thankfully we attend a church where we are feed the "meat" of the word. I wouldn't stay there, or be there, if it didn't!!! There is not enough discipling done today.
