I got this email from my sister...
Up to date news...
You can read about the storm at ike@khou.com.This gives detailed info. about each city. My friend Xochitl, her husband and her dad elected to stay in their small, wooden home. They live near the Texas City levee (which sot far has not broken; but remember Katrina) so please pray for them. They were out of electricity around 8pm last night!Love you. I'm able to get Channel 11 Houston news (KHOU)
I reply...
I'll be praying...why did they stay? That's not safe! We are all okay here, looks like we won't get really anything here-most of the storm went way east of us. Love you too!
My sister replies...
I don't know, but I wish they would have gone to her dad's; he has a brick home and is further from the levee. When I talked to her last night, she didn't want to use her cell for fear of the battery going dead, and at that point, she had already lost electricity. Earlier in the day, she'd left me a message in a cheerful voice saying she was going to get a t-shirt once the storm passed: "I survived Hurricane Ike" . When I called her, I told her if she doesn't survive, I'm going to have her buried in a shirt that says: "I didn't survive Hurricane Ike". By then, she was in no mood for jokes
My reply...

Okay...I laughed, too. Couldn't help myself!
I just wanted to let you know that this is the last week I'll be hosting the sing-along on the homeschoolblogger site. I'm going to host it from my blogger site from now on. I'm pulling away from the other site. I'm being stalked. (seriously) Besides that, I feel like I can't be as open about things as I want. I don't tiptoe on eggshells too well. My mouth weigh too much!!! lol.
Take care,
Stacey
