I've got something BIG

Yep, I've got something big to tell you about...but I'm going to wait to share it. :P

And if you want to know what it is...you have to leave a comment. :)

Things I've been pondering about...

How come the liberals don't realize how hypocritical they are? Not saying conservatives aren't also...just some things are more noticeable like...

*How come they will safe the life of a polar bear or a whale, but end the life of a child?

*How come it's okay for Obama to skip out on votes, and then not want to skip out on the debate?

*Why is it that like 60% of democrats voted for the bailout, yet people voting for Obama complain that the republicans are spenders? HELLO???

*sigh* My dd just told me 189 days until baseball season begins. LOL...In her mind, baseball season is over, because her beloved Astros got eliminated from any wild card possiblities. sigh...so the countdown has officially begun...(Oh LORD please let baseball season come quickly-amen)

We have HIS promise...

In spite of the bailouts of WaMu and others, the world may look grim...but we have this promise, HIS PROMISE, and we should never fear!

Godly convictions vs.Other People's convictions

This is from my old blog...but I consider it note worthy, so I thought I'd post it again...

I know a dear, sweet, precious lady. Everytime I'm around her I leave thinking, "I need to be more like her"...
While I was cleaning the kid's bathroom...I started thinking about this...
Other people's convictions may not be YOUR convictions from GOD. When we allow other people's convictions become our own we could actually be putting ourselves in bondage and become legalist and religious. All things JESUS came to set us free from. I'm not saying that someone's conviction is wrong for them-if GOD told them to do/not do something. But it is wrong for me to assume that that conviction should become my conviction, unless GOD tells me do/not do something.

It's taken me a long time to understand this. I would hear preachers, pastors, etc. and I then thought well I need to do this or that...I would get so upset...I would allow his conviction to become my conviction and I would become miserable! I would become depressed and angry and in turn I was putting myself into bondage. Who was I angry with? GOD? He never told me to let that become my conviction. MYSELF? Was I angry because it was something I didn't want to give up? If I were really suppose to give it up why was it so hard? GOD's WORD says "My yoke is easy and my burden is light." OTHERS? Was I angry at others because they made me feel condemned? There is no condemation for those that are in CHRIST JESUS. What was I doing? I was actually being condemned by the devil is what was taking place and then I would fall into sin because I was angry and depressed.

I'm still learning, but over the years I'm beginning to slowly grow and understand. What a great feeling not to be bound. We are free in JESUS! We are not bound by other people's convictions, only those GOD lays on our heart! What a blessing!

Stylish and Hip-how?

So yesterday we went to Walmart and lil dd needed some deodorant . She picked out some Teen Spirit by Lady Speed Stick Pop star fragrance. Last night when I went into the bathroom to get ready for bed I noticed the lid said stylish and hip...I cracked up laughing...deodorant stylish and hip??? Unless someone is going around with her arms up all day so everyone can smell her deodorant (which btw doesn't seem too stylish or hip to me and/or it leaves some kind of line-maybe neon art) how can it be stylish and hip??? Then this morning when I go to find a picture (which I can't copy and paste) I read the little advertising bull for it...lol..."A stylish and hip new scent to match your pop star attitude". LOL...Geez how fun, I wanna use some now!!! ;P

These are a few of my favorite things...

(Can you hear Julie Andrews singing in the background? :P)

*Starbuck's Dark Chocolate Mocha Frappuccino Coffee Drink...almost better than the fraps you buy at Starbuck's and less expensive! I've been getting them at Walmart. Tried them on the camping trip.

*The new dip I tried at Costco...guess what it has in it? It has YUMMY Cream cheese in it!!! I don't have it here in the RV with me, but it is a Artichoke Jalapeno Dip...It is fabulous! (and I'm not big on artichokes) This dip has, besides the obvious, cream cheese, jack cheese, onion, and garlic in it! Oh my!!! So good! (I'll try to get name and pic later-I don't have it with me, so I can't remember brand to look it up) Served on these new Garlic and Chive pita bite crackers from Sensible Portions....they've become one of my favorite snacks! I got both at Costco and ate them on the camping trip!
*Guess what's out??? The Black Friday List! Oh YES!!! For my favorite day to shop!!!
*And one more fav...
My friend, Pottermom, has an excellent post...well usually her posts are pretty excellent. I encourage you to check it out. (just go to her name in this post)

A divine appointed camping trip

You probably all know by now, that I don't take anything as coincidental. I believe things happen for a reason, including being sent to a certain time at a certain place. Well that happened this weekend, when we finally decided to go camping at Garner State Park. Thursday morning we finally decided to go...but first there were lots of things to do. Wash clothes, go to the store, wait for dd to come home from school, etc. So we finally got going around 6 pm that evening. We stopped in Marble Falls for gas and a few things we forgot. We stopped in Johnson City at Dairy Queen for food, which might I add was disgusting....gag! Anyhow we finally were driving down the road with a goal in mind...to stop in Boerne and then finish the drive in the morning, a little over half way. So that's what we did. We camped at Walmart overnight, and then headed out early.

We got to Garner about 7:30 am. We drove around and then went into the ranger's office when it opened at 8 am. We registered, went and drove around again, because we went to set up. The ranger told us to come back after we picked out a site....so we went back in again around 9 am. When we went back in we had to wait in line. There were two young hispanic fellows in front of us. They looked pretty rough, but as usual that didn't stop dh and I from talking to them. :)
He found out they were there from Galveston. Brothers, with families, and mom and dad, staying at the park. Lost everything due to Ike. Were staying somewhere else, but money got tight, and heard the parks were letting hurricane victims stay free, so they came. They had a good outlook on the situation. Dh and I visited with them for a few more minutes, they were called up and we found out what site they were staying in.

When we were done dh and I got in the truck and knew we were suppose to help them out. Dh felt they probably needed sleeping bags and pots and pans. We went over and asked if they needed things and how they were on food, etc. They said the kids were sleeping on the floor of the camper with some blankets. So sleeping bags would be perfect. They also needed some frying pans, and their vehicles needed gas. I'm so thankful my man hears from the HOLY SPIRIT!!! We said we would be back to get them in a bit, we needed to shower.

We took showers and went back. When we got back over to their site, the one brother said that as soon as we left they started getting calls from FEMA and food stamps, and that they were going to be able to be set up in a hotel on Sunday. Both brothers were excited, and said as soon as you left...well, we had already told them earlier, they needed to check out our home church when they get back. So we knew it was GOD putting things in motion. They still needed gas...so we knew this would be our blessing. We had to go to Walmart and get dh's oil changed (new truck tells you the oil has to be changed...sign won't stop bugging you until you do it). We went to Walmart got a few gift cards for gas and a few things for the kids to color with.

Dh went back over later and delivered the goods...it was indeed a time to minister. He was able to share some of our history and how GOD has changed our lives. He was able to share to the mother and father and the wives of these men, as well. Shared the gospel and salvation and to check our home church out, and to pray with them and tell them GOD wants us to prosper according to HIS WORD.

We knew it was an divine appointed camping trip! We knew GOD sent us there for that very reason. We are blessed to be a blessing...and boy does that feel good!

I don't share this story to boast on myself. I shared this story to share about how good GOD is!!! HE is so good to us. HE loves us so much. HE wants the very best for HIS children. GOD's not up on HIS throne, waiting to hit you with his gaffle. HE's a good, loving, and kind GOD. He wants you to know HIS truth.

day to day...

I think we are going camping today...we've changed our mind back and forth...
and Susan, we too lived in our other RV for quite sometime, and camped in that one-lol...but this one we haven't camped with yet...I knew people that have had the RV experience would appreciate that...

My hair looks fabulous!!! :)

Yesterday, on the way to get my hair done, dd and I had an interesting conversation. We were talking about Sheryl Crow and Lance Armstrong. (there was a Crow song on the radio...which led to conversation) I asked dd if Crow/Armstrong ever said why they broke up. Dd said, "They said because they fell out of love."

Where I proceeded to say, "OUT OF LOVE???? Sorry one doesn't fall in and out of love...love is more than a feeling. It's a commitment. It's being there even when you hate or so mad at the person, but you stick with them through thick and thin, because you know it's the right thing to do."

My mind, at that point was spinning, because I thought of a whole post, I thought I could write a book...now I can't think of half the things I was going to say...LOL...Have you ever had that happen??? Where GOD shows you all kinds of reasons, scripture, etc, and when it comes to putting them to paper you forget???

Yes, this is mostly random thoughts...just sharing day to day life experiences...

Hope you all have a fabulous hair day! :P and Blessings until next time

To camp or not...that is the question....

Dh has been off since last Thursday...my friend, Marian and her boys, have been here since last Wednesday night, but left last night...

Marian's dh reserved a cabin at Garner State Park months ago...when we found out, we thought it would be fun to go...so for the past 24 hours we have been volleying the idea back and forth...

Dh's office is now open and he is supposedly working, Wed-Fri 10 hour days...but dh thinks he should wait until Monday to go to work. He thinks, when he gets there, no one on his project will be there...so instead...he's going to take the rest of the week off...and I think we are going camping...in the RV...we haven't camped in this RV yet...we've only lived in this RV...lol...not that there's that much difference...but I am looking forward to the trip.

Thank you all for your prayers! Please continue to pray for family and friends that have endured the result of Ike...we have yet to hear about several families from our home church...hopefully they came out without too much damage.

In other news...
today I'm going to get my hair cut and highlighted-no new do, just touching up etc...

Hope you all have a blessed day!

Hurricane Ike...

We faired fine...no rain or anything. My friend, Marian, and her boys came up on Wednesday night late and our still here. They still have no power at their house. Dh pulled the RV home on Thursday afternoon. He's been off since. No work again tomorrow...sigh...not only is he driving me crazy-lol..but no paycheck. :(

In other news, this is sad...former Christian musician, Ray Boltz announced he's gay. You can read the article here. I would encourage you to pray for him.

Sunday Sing-Along

I know this isn't a song...but it really brings this election into perspective, so I hope it's okay to post this instead. GOD BLESS this man and all the young men and women that give up their today's so we can have our tomorrows. Thank you for all you do for our freedom!!!

sick, but funny...

I got this email from my sister...

Up to date news...
You can read about the storm at ike@khou.com.This gives detailed info. about each city. My friend Xochitl, her husband and her dad elected to stay in their small, wooden home. They live near the Texas City levee (which sot far has not broken; but remember Katrina) so please pray for them. They were out of electricity around 8pm last night!Love you. I'm able to get Channel 11 Houston news (KHOU)

I reply...

I'll be praying...why did they stay? That's not safe! We are all okay here, looks like we won't get really anything here-most of the storm went way east of us. Love you too!

My sister replies...

I don't know, but I wish they would have gone to her dad's; he has a brick home and is further from the levee. When I talked to her last night, she didn't want to use her cell for fear of the battery going dead, and at that point, she had already lost electricity. Earlier in the day, she'd left me a message in a cheerful voice saying she was going to get a t-shirt once the storm passed: "I survived Hurricane Ike" . When I called her, I told her if she doesn't survive, I'm going to have her buried in a shirt that says: "I didn't survive Hurricane Ike". By then, she was in no mood for jokes

My reply...

sick, but hysterical Becca!!! OMGosh I can't stop laughing Good one!!!

This just in...at 11:55...
My sister's friend is fine. She spoke to their son.

election ranting again...

so tired of hearing...
Is Palin capable?
If GOD has called her, she is...because of Philipians 4:13...I can do all things through Christ.

She should be a keeper of her home...
Oh whatever...maybe she is the person GOD has called up to be for such a time as this...

What if Palin is the keeper of the home? The home being the USA and she is cleaning up and preparing for the LORD....maybe she is being the virtuous woman...she could be the keeper of the home on a bigger picture...she could be going in to clean the house, balance the budget, etc.

She could be like Esther, that was used to turn the heart of the king...not in exactly the same way, because of course there is Mr. Palin, but to change the heart of Mr. McCain and the nation. Maybe she's like Deborah in the Bible...who's to say our nation isn't being judged?

We do not know if she will be VP and possibly Pres...but this I do know...if she does become VP and possibly Pres...GOD had it in HIS plan from the beginning of time, and only time will tell...

He will laugh...

that's what Ike means...yikes I hope there's no significance in that...

Like I REALLY need a reason...

Like I REALLY need a reason?

Some lady on a Christian home schooling board wants reasons why I’m voting for McCain…OMGosh!!! like I REALLY need reasons???? You’ve got to be kidding me? Here’s my reasons…
Duh…to keep Obama out!!!!
Okay, I’ll think of other reasons and post them later. But I really am having a hard time with people that call themselves Christians and need a reason not to vote for Obama or should that read a reason to vote for McCain/Palin….

btw here's her post:

Please, tell me, without bashing Obama, why you think John McCain would make a good president (better than the one we currently have, whom I did vote for btw). Please, don't tell me because he is pro-life--I know this already and I haven't seen any pro-life president do much for the past 16 years (other than select a supreme court judge). I'm also getting rather sick of the Republican Party's scare tactics--"Iran has nuclear weapons and will give them to terrorists" etc.. I just want to why you are leaning toward McCain.

Granted she has a point...but if ONLY to keep Obama out...would be a reason he would make a good president, IMHO!

the survivalist mentality...

What is it?

The word survivalist means someone who tries to insure their personal survival or the survival of their group or nation.

One who survives...

Why as Christians do we tend to live like this? GOD through HIS SON, JESUS CHRIST, has given us the keys to the Heaven and earth. (Matthew 16:19) He gave them to us when JESUS died, went to hell, took the keys back from the devil!!! (Rev. 1:18) So why do we tend to live like we are poor, that we lack, that we don't have enough?

Every time we say,

"Oh I don't have enough money for that"

"We are too poor"

"I can't pay my bills"

"I can't buy groceries, gas...

EVEN if that all is true, why say it out loud? Life and death are in the power of the tongue!!! (Proverbs 18:21) All you do when you speak those things is create death over yourself, over your finances!!! Start speaking life into your finances!!! Start speaking GOD's WORD, HIS TRUTH over your finances!!! Every time that liar, the devil, says you won't have, you can't have, etc...you remind him of GOD's WORD...you learn those verses, you say them out loud, you keep saying them!!!! You say them out loud so that you hear yourself say them because "Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the WORD of GOD!" (Romans 10:17)

Here's some verses to encourage:

Philipians 4:19 "But my GOD shall supply all your need according to HIS riches in glory by CHRIST JESUS"

3 John 2 "Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth"

Psalm 37:25 "I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread."

Psalm 34:10 "The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the LORD shall not want any good thing."

Psalm 23:1 "The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want."

Deuteronomy 28:2-8 "And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God.
Blessed shalt thou be in the city, and blessed shalt thou be in the field.
Blessed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy ground, and the fruit of thy cattle, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep.
Blessed shall be thy basket and thy store.
Blessed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and blessed shalt thou be when thou goest out.
The LORD shall cause thine enemies that rise up against thee to be smitten before thy face: they shall come out against thee one way, and flee before thee seven ways.
The LORD shall command the blessing upon thee in thy storehouses, and in all that thou settest thine hand unto; and he shall bless thee in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee."

Deuteronomy 28:11-13 "And the LORD shall make thee plenteous in goods, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy ground, in the land which the LORD sware unto thy fathers to give thee.
The LORD shall open unto thee his good treasure, the heaven to give the rain unto thy land in his season, and to bless all the work of thine hand: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, and thou shalt not borrow.
And the LORD shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath; if that thou hearken unto the commandments of the LORD thy God, which I command thee this day, to observe and to do them:"

Luke 6:38 "Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again."

I Corinthians 16:2 "Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come"

Malachi 3:10-12"Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.
And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the LORD of hosts.
And all nations shall call you blessed: for ye shall be a delightsome land, saith the LORD of hosts."

II Corinthians 9:6-8 "But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.
Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.
And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:"

Matthew 6:31-33 "Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?
(For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Blessings until next time!

BTW we are safely in Houston, might be leaving due to Ike...the internet is slow here at the RV park...

$50 million???

Have you heard that the NEA is endorsing Obama and plans to spend $50 million to target swing state votes? I don't know how true the $50 million thingy is, but they are endorsing Obama according to their website. You can read it here. Here's an article from the American Family News Network about the $50 million here.

Here's an idea...how about start spending the money on education for the children or on teacher's salaries??? Geez there's a novelity idea...

Sunday Sing-Along

Yesterday on the drive home from SC I had lots of time to think. Dh was pulling the RV , I was pulling the small lowboy trailer. DD was with me, but slept most of the time. I thought wouldn't be cool if we as Christians just took a few minutes each day-like a prayer vigil- to pray for the election, to REALLY seek GOD's face...what a difference it could make! So I wanted a song from the early '90's (yeah dating myself), but couldn't find it...so I found this one instead:

And what if Gov. Sarah Palin is for such a time as this...Here's a song for that:

Thursday, September 4, 2008

hmm, Interesting...how they really vote...

I didn't get a chance to see Sarah Palin's speech last night...but I hope to find it on YouTube or online somewhere...then I'll give my thoughts. Instead I thought this would be interesting and informative. (Especially after I read some of the opinions I read about Sarah Palin's speech last night on a homeschool board-hardly anything was mentioned about her voting record or what she stood for...which got me thinking how often people are deceived by appearances only...so here's how they really stack up)

Obama's voting record:

Biden's voting record:

McCain's voting record:

Palin's voting record: (not much voting, here's her vetoes)
Here's her public speeches:

My thoughts on Sarah Palin

I think she very well maybe called by GOD, as Deborah, in the book of Judges. I think her lack of experience is actually a plus. I'm tired of hearing about the lack of experience she has when people are willing to vote for Obama and what experience does he have? Until about a year or so ago...he doesn't even have a paper trail...doesn't that ring any bells in people's heads or even spirits??? Has anyone read his first book? "Dreams from My Father"...I haven't read it yet...but from what I've heard from friends that have, they say he clearly is prejudice against white people. This was before he was even considering becoming president...that doesn't scare people???

Not mention Obama's stand on health care, abortion, social issues...I can go on and on...

Frankly, I'm tired of people saying they are Christians and then vote for their wallet...where's putting all their trust in GOD? They always end up having an excuse on why...

I don't care if Palin is republican or democrat...I care that she stands up for what I believe in.

I think it's sad that people can't see that we are in grave danger of America becoming a battle ground not just from terrorists, but from a civil war and a spiritual war like we've never faced before.

As far as Palin's 17 year old dd is concerned...I'm sure some people will say (especially "Christians" that think her place is in the home and not as the VP) "This just proves she should be at home"...HELLO!!! There's lots of Christian (and non Christian) young girls that their moms stayed home and they are pregnant!!! Give me a break! I think the way the Palin's have decided to support her and the father is loving and the way I'd handle it if I was put in that position. (at least I hope I would)

Up until about a century ago, getting married and poppin' babies out in the teen years was perfectly acceptable...one of the reasons it's changed is because life expectancy is longer. I'm not condoning that it's okay to get pregnant/have sex before marriage. I'm merely making the point that 100 years ago, if the girl was married and poppin out a baby at 17 it would have been perfectly acceptable.

So my thoughts on those that want to criticize Palin or Palin's dd...How about taking that two by four plank out of your eye and quit worrying about the toothpick in your brother's?

September 1st...

Wow! Hard to believe...this year has really flown by. Some interesting things (well I find them interesting) I've been thinking about...

Funny how New Orleans just celebrated the 3rd anniversary of Katrina. Hmmm...3 is significant in the Bible...not to mention the name Gustav...What's in a name? That's a whole post in itself...but think about this..."Speak those things which are not as though they are" Romans 4:17

Another thing I've been meditating on is...in the book of Acts the first, early church.
Things I noticed about the early church is the would go out and get people saved and then bring them in to the church to disciple them...adding to the church daily...and then once those people were discipled they would go out get people saved and bring them in disciple them and send them out...

Nowadays we don't do that, for the most part...we try to get people in church and then save them. We teach salvation week after week in most churches. I think that's why there is so many people that get burned out from church. There isn't much spiritual growth or discipleship. People hear salvation week after week and then feel guilty and repeatly feel like they need to repent for their sins. I don't think a salvation message needs to be taught week after week. People that go to church and hear the voice of the HOLY SPIRIT will be convicted by HIM and want to repent. The Pastor can teach and disciple from the leading of the HOLY SPIRIT and people will want that same power and want to change their lives. Another thing is that most churches invite people to church...but they forget to invite the HOLY SPIRIT.

Oh and what about McCain's choice? I think I like her...not sure if it will help...I'm praying it will...I'll post my thoughts on that later...maybe tomorrow...I think I've given enough to chew on for today.

Blessings until next post and Happy Labor Day and Sept 1st!
