Well...if you watch or listen to any kind of news, you've probably heard the big hipe about Hannah Montana, aka Miley Cyrus. She did a somewhat sultry layout for Vanity Fair magazine.
Having a daughter that watches the Disney show "Hannah Montana", I was somewhat disappointed and sad from the current events. On the otherhand, I think this a great opportunity not only to teach my dear, sweet, innocent daughter some very important values/morals.
My dd looked up to Miley...she was very disappointed by her actions and said, "I'm not going to watch her show anymore. I don't like her anymore." Then she wrote a letter saying something about how she was a fan, and now she doesn't like her anymore. My response was..."You're really disappointed in her choices aren't you? But that doesn't mean you have to stop watching her show. If she continues in this behavior I think you should, but remember we all make mistakes. We shouldn't judge her and decide we don't like her. We need to pray that she will be sorry and ask GOD for forgiveness and that GOD will send people in her path to teach her the truth, HIS TRUTH. Instead, how about if we write a letter saying something like...I really like you, but I'm really disappointed in your choices, and I hope you won't continue down that path. I will be praying for you."
I'm sure there's quite a few people that can't believe that I let my dd watch this show anyhow. I watch it with her and if there's anything I find questionable on it, we talk about it. Why shouldn't we let this be a learning opportunity just like anything else in life? (mind you within guidelines)
I think this has been a great opportunity to teach my dd who she is really suppose to look up to. It's also a great opportunity to show her everyone makes mistakes, bad choices in his or her life...I will be looking forward to see how this situation plays out in Miley Cyrus' life...If she will continue down this sad path or realize this was a bad choice. I think it will be a continuing lesson for my dd on good or bad, GODLY or GODLY choices....and I like that!!! It's also a great opportunity to remind my dd that we live in a lost world and it's so important to lift those that don't know HIM in prayer and to be an example of HIS love!
Blessings until next time!

Church Billboard
We made it safely to SC, but not without incident...but I'll share that later.
We don't have internet connection, except if we drive up to RV owner's property...can't get wireless connection down where we are at. :( Dh is still trying to work on it.
I didn't realize that SC's church poplulation was mainly Baptist...interesting to say the least. Literally every corner there is a Baptist church!
Today while running errands I read on a church billboard..."Love your enemies. You made them!" Can you say IGNORANT???
IGNORANT from Dictionary.com
–adjective
1.
lacking in knowledge or training; unlearned: an ignorant man.
2.
lacking knowledge or information as to a particular subject or fact: ignorant of quantum physics.
3.
uninformed; unaware.
4.
due to or showing lack of knowledge or training: an ignorant statement.
[Origin: 1325–75; ME ignora(u)nt <>ignore; see -ant]
If I recall off the top of my head, JESUS was telling us to love our enemies because HE was speaking to believers and reminding us to love our enemies because it is not us they are against, it is HIM! When are people going to realize that sometimes others don't like us, are offended by us because of the light shining in us? We serve a REAL GOD and there is a REAL devil.
Ephesians 6:12 reminds us...
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Okay, rant over...
Blessings until next time...(and I look forward to being online daily soon)

Adios and Happy Birthday Dad!
This will be my last post for a while, until we get to South Carolina and get internet service of some kind...the RV park we are going to doesn't have any. DH has offered to help them remedy that problem...probably mostly on my behalf...he knows it's my connection to the outer world. :) Isn't he a sweetie?
Also, today is my Dad's 71st. Happy Birthday, Daddy Honey!!! I love you!

The Bible through the eyes of a child
My dad forwarded this to me...I thought it was pretty cute!
Through the eyes of a child. Children's Bible in a Nutshell
In the beginning, which occurred near the start, there was nothing but God, darkness, and some gas. The Bible says, 'The Lord thy God is one, but I think He must be a lot older than that. Anyway, God said, 'Give me a light!' and someone did. Then God made the world. He split the Adam and made Eve. Adam and Eve were naked, but they weren't embarrassed because mirrors hadn't been invented yet. Adam and Eve disobeyed God by eating one bad apple, so they were driven from the Garden of Eden. Not sure what they were driven in though, because they didn't have cars. Adam and Eve had a son, Cain, who hated his brother as long as he was Abel. Pretty soon all of the early people died off, except for Methuselah, who lived to be like a million or something.
One of the next important people was Noah, who was a good guy, but one of his kids was kind of a Ham. Noah built a large boat and put his family and some animals on it. He asked some other people to join him, but they said they would have to take a rain check. After Noah came Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Jacob was more famous than his brother, Esau, because Es au sold Jacob his birthmark in exchange for some pot roast. Jacob had a son named Joseph who wore a really loud sports coat.
Another important Bible guy is Moses, whose real name was Charlton Heston. Moses led the Israel Lights out of Egypt and away from the evil Pharaoh after God sent ten plagues on Pharaoh's people. These plagues included frogs, mice, lice, bowels, and no cable. God fed the Israel Lights every day with manicotti. Then he gave them His Top Ten Commandments. These include don't lie, cheat, smoke, dance, or covet your neighbor's stuff. Oh, yeah, I just thought of one more: Humor thy father and thy mother. One of Moses' best helpers was Joshua who was the first Bible guy to use spies. Joshua fought the battle of Geritol and the fence fell over on the town.
After Joshua came David. He got to be king by killing a giant with a slingshot. He had a son named Solomon who had about 300 wives and 500 porcupines. My teacher says he was wise, but that doesn't sound very wise to me. After Solomon there were a bunch of major league prophets . One of these was Jonah, who was swallowed by a big whale and then barfed upon the shore. Therewere also some minor league prophets, but I guess we don't have to worry about them.
After the Old Testament came the New Testament. Jesus is the star of the New Testament. He was born in Bethlehem in a barn.(I wish I had been born in a barn, too, because my mom is always sayingto me, 'Close the door! Were you born in a barn?' It would be nice tosay, 'As a matter of fact, I was.')
During His life, Jesus had many arguments with sinners like the Pharisees and the Republicans. Jesus also had twelveopossums. The worst one was Judas Asparagus. Judas was so evil that they named a terrible vegetable after him. Jesus was a great man. He healed many leopards and even preached to some Germans on the Mount. But the Republicans and all those guys put Jesus on trial before Pontius the Pilot. Pilot didn't stick up for Jesus. Hejust washed his hands instead. Any way's, Jesus died for our sins, then came back to life again. He went up to Heaven but will be back at the end of the Aluminum. His return is foretold in the book of Revolution

Sunday Sing-Along
This is a pretty old video...so it's not the best quality. Nowadays, I hardly listen to Christian music on the radio. It just doesn't seem like it has a message, like this song. I remember turning this song up loud and singing in my car. I love this video because it shows so many of my favorites in Christian music. If you are a fan of 80's Christian music, see if you recogonize any of these artists...
Lyrics:
Carry the Light
by Twila Paris
from the 1989 album "Carry the Light"
In this world of darkness,
We are given light.
Hope for all the dying.
How will they know?
How will they know
That Jesus loves them,
And He died to save them?
Carry the light!
Carry the light!
Go and tell the children they are precious in His sight!
Carry the light!
Carry the light!
Go and preach the gospel till there is no more night!
In the name of Jesus Christ,
Carry the light!
Count them by the millions,
Blinded slaves to sin.
But inside they are dying.
How will they know?
How will they know
That Jesus loves them,
And His heart is breaking?
Carry the light!
Carry the light!
Go and tell the children they are precious in His sight!
Carry the light!
Carry the light!
Go and preach the gospel till there is no more night!
In the name of Jesus Christ,
Carry the light!
Go ye into all the world
Go ye into all the world
Carry the light!
Carry the light!
Go and tell the children they are precious in His sight!
Carry the light!
Carry the light!
Go and preach the gospel till there is no more night!
In the name of Jesus Christ,
Carry the light!
In the name of Jesus Christ,
Carry the light!
Carry the light!
Carry the light!

Costco Cart etiquette
I'm going to write a letter to Costco proposing that before they hand a membership to people that it is required to take Shopping Cart etiquette 101...
GEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!!!!
- Not only do people lack manners, but what about common sense????
- How difficult is it to get out of the way so others can get through???
- How come people's little kids have to be wandering throughout the store and jumping around on a Saturday when there are a half a million people in the store?
- How come little kids are standing in the cart?
- Why does traffic have to flow 13 different ways when the aisle has two sides?
- How come when you say excuse me, even though you're not the one in the way, people look at you like you have eight arms and 14 eyes?
- Why does Costco have palets of stuff blocking the aisles?
- and most importantly...why did I tell dh I would go to Costco on a Saturday afternoon???

When to pray
1 Thessalonians 5:17 (KJV)
17 Pray without ceasing.
My friend Scotschooler is somewhat responsible/inspired me to write this post...
On one of her posts she says...
How often do you tell someone you'll pray for them and never do?? That's the worst isn't it, especially when the next time you see that person you realize you didn't and can't honestly say, "I've been praying for you
I'll be honest...I use to be one of those people...it's true, I WAS, but somewhere I heard someone like our Pastor, from ALCC, or Bro. Jesse DuPlantis say would you like to pray now? Pray right then and there, then you don't have time to forget. That really stuck with me. If the person doesn't have time to pray, and needs to leave, I try to do it in my head then. I still sometimes forget...but it's not near as often.
I encourage all that read this post to try this too! Sometimes prayers need to be sent to Heaven quickly.
Blessings until next time!!!

ACK! This here is a ve-hic-le!
If you watch M*A*S*H* you'll get the title...
This week dh and I paid out almost $1000 in vehicle repairs!!! UGH!!! That's a tremendous amount for us to pay out, because dh (who's worked on vehicles since he was 12) has ALWAYS worked on our vehicles and usually doesn't like other people to mess with them...but dh's time is very limited and he's tired of always working. (hey I don't blame him! He works between 50-60 hours a week, drives to and from Houston every weekend, gets up at 5 am, so he can provide for our family, be a financial blessing to others and to us, and makes it possible for me to stay home with our children and homeschool-Thank you, my love!)
My van had an EGR valve go out............................................$275
DD's car needed new tires..........................................................$675>yes, she's paying us back
DD's car needed a front alignment............................................$160>again, yes, she's paying us back
New serpentine belt for van & another part ...........................$70
Dh still needs tires for his truck...but that'll have to wait a few weeks, unless GOD chooses to provide some way...
