I was over at some gal's blog the other day...my first visit there. She had a post of protesting McDonald's because they support homosexuals and will no longer go there.
Which got me thinking do we stop supporting businesses because they support a gay agenda? I don't think so...
Maybe at one time earlier in my Christian walk I would have, but now I won't. I will not support business or at least try not support business that treat me crumby like Walmart or Directv, but the more I think about not supporting a business because they support a gay agenda, the more I reminded of the WORD.
Jesus ate with sinners.
Are we saying we are supporting the gay agenda by purchasing items from their establishments? I don't think so.
I think instead it is an opportunity for us as 'Christians' to say we love you, we hate your sin.
I think instead of us not shopping there, we should pray.
Pray that a door will open for us as Christians to minister to them.
Pray that Christians will see it's an opportunity to witness and show the world we don't think we are "better than them".
Pray that the lost and dying will see the truth, and turn away from their sin.
I don't think this is any different from protesting abortion clinics...I hate when I see "Christians" outside, near an abortion clinic carrying signs around!!!
How are we loving them? All we are doing is pointing out their sin! They know it's wrong. They don't need our help in pointing it out to them.
As I'm typing this post I realize some people might say, well if that's the case, why don't you send your kids to public school?
Okay, well when I think about it, I think a couple things...
First of all they aren't public schools they are Government schools.
Second and most importantly, the WORD says we are to instruct our children. Third, I think this is an individual's choice.
Fourth, I think it is important to teach at home, so that we can show our children how to love the sinner and hate the sin.
I know not everyone is going to agree with me, I'm just sharing what I think the LORD has shown me over the past 16-17 years as I've grown as a Christian.

Mmmm...this is an age long division among Believers. - So, so tired of Christian division. My homeschooling journey has been nothing but....
I hope you're doing well. Sounds like you're in SC? Whereabouts?
Amen, sistah!
I always think those kinds of protests only serve to fuel fire, rather than turn hearts.
As for not sending our kids to gov't schools. I'm not protesting them, I am obeying the Lord's direct word to raise them in the nurture (educating the WHOLE person, look it up) and admonition of the Lord.
Hey, where you are at you would be starving and unclothed if you didn't shop at places that supported gays. lol
I totally agree with you. But then is that a surprise? lol I'm sure we both know some folks that would like to burn a few at the stake, and not just gays, any type of sinner...... unless they attend the same church as the fire lighter.
If 'we' boycott a business b/c they serve sinners..then I guess we all need to stay home! b/c there isn't one among that is rightous no not one!
